Is your family able to survive the economic storm? In today’s society, it is challenging for many parents to energize, promote, and enforce education with so many distractions and divisions. Organizing a STATE OF THE BLACK PARENT conference is of the utmost importance. As volunteer parents, our team hopes to unite BLACK PARENTS who share the same interest and concerns while respecting the fact that we each have different background experiences. We want to learn, discuss issues, share thoughts, and inspire dreams that focus on the same concern…OUR FUTURE DREAMERS, LEADERS AND ACHIEVERS!

For our FREE U Africa Study Unit, we are working on Modern Egypt. I really wanted to try lapbooking but it seemed a bit juvenile for my older daughter, so I began to create a Modern Egypt Virtual Notebooking eBook for her. Below is a sample of that eBook. Feel free to right click and save it to your computer for your own personal use. Virtual eBook are meant to be completed at a desktop, laptop, or on a mobile device. Finished eBooks will be in PDF format however this preview is a JPG file to be completed in Microsoft Paint or a similar program. The eBook in its entirety will be available for download soon! If you have an idea for a virtual eBook that you’d like to see made into reality, shoot us an email and we’ll see what we can do!

I’m just now getting into this whole lapbook/unit studies craze (better late than never right?) only because I hate the idea of printing so much paper. So after months of procrastination, I finally sat down and decided to try my hand at a lapbook. My first lapbook has 2 versions, one that can be printed out or completed on a mobile device, the other is strictly usable at a desktop or laptop computer. With the virtual lapbook version, the user types directly unto or copy and pastes into the lapbook using the Paint program that we all have on our computer. I plan to do more so please offer some constructive criticism so I can make my virtual lapbooks better.
